dO Wood Fired Pizza Craft House coming to Main St. after City Cribs LLC purchases building
Greensburg is soon going to have a new restaurant at 39 North Main Street when dO Wood Fired Pizza Craft House opens in Fall of 2020 after City Cribs LLC purchased the building.
dO Wood Fired was first rumored to open up a location a couple of years ago but worked on other restaurant projects before focusing on this location. They’ve recently partnered with City Cribs LLC, owned by Suzanne Ward, Tim Zontek and Mike Ward, to move the project forward.
“Some of these commercial buildings in Greensburg haven’t been updated in years and are a whole different animal,” said Suzanne Ward. “We’re excited to bring our skill set and team to finish this project in a timely manner while the dO Wood team focuses on what they do best; their restaurant, brand and menu. It’s an amazing feeling to not only purchase a building but to bring a business in that will impact the community in a positive way.”
Pronounced /dōugh/, dŌ wood-fired’s core value is giving people the creative power to have what they want at an affordable price. The restaurant is a fast-casual and comfortable, BYOB, wood-fried specialty restaurant that welcomes all. The dŌ wood-fired experience offers an urban, downtown feel, where rustic meets modern. The atmosphere is noted by patrons to be fresh, warm, and inviting. Their Greensburg location, will be have the original dO Wood favorites, their pizza and specialty sandwiches but will be a step up with the addition of wood fired entrees and appetizers.
“We knew that Greensburg was on the ground floor of exploding and we wanted to be a part of it.” Chris Martin, partner of dO Wood Fired. “Our impression of wood fired experience is something we defiantly wanted to bring to Greensburg.”
dO Wood partners, Dave Caruso, Chris Martin and John Painter, opened the original dO Wood Fired in Irwin in 2017 and their second concept, Burgher Burgher in 2018, also in Irwin.
“We’ve known the owners of dO for a long time,” said Mike Ward. “With their energy and watching what they did in Irwin we’re excited to partner and combine our skill sets to bring a great addition to downtown Greensburg.”
Built in the 1910s the stone 3 story building was originally a Merchants and Farmers Bank. Mill’s Printing was housed in the building from 1978 to 2010 before closing after 32 years. Since 2010, the space has been vacant.
“I’m very excited for City Cribs next endeavor,” said Tim Zontek. “Our first project was a great experience and this time we teamed up with a really cool group of entrepreneurs in dO Wood Fired. The have a great concept and are going to crush it in the Greensburg market. I’m most excited to start the construction. Our architect, Lee Calisti nailed the design and the transformation of this building is going to be amazing.”
dO Wood Fired Craft House plans on utilizing the basement, first and second floor of the building. City Cribs LLC is still looking for a tenant for the third floor, which is around 2000 sqft. for a large apartment, office or two apartments. They will also be looking for RFPs and will be hosting a meeting at the building on December 6 at 8am for contractors with bids back by December 22 at 5pm.
